Bundle Up, Michigan

For those who do not know, I have lived in Michigan my entire life. Despite the fact that I have a strong dislike for snow, I am proud to call myself a 'Michigander'.  The state of Michigan is known for its beautiful summers and brutally cold winters. So far during the 2019 winter, Michigan has seen dangerous cold weather.

As of right now, Winter Storm Maya is about to hit Midwest and East coast. The city of Mount Pleasant is currently in a Winter Storm Warning from 12:00am EST, Tue Feb 12 until 1:00pm EST, Wed Feb 13. Central Michigan University has already closed down campus multiple times due to weather and there is talk that the campus could close again this week.

If you ever find yourself in a Winter Storm Warning, below are some tips that could help you stay safe and warm:

- Stay off roads.
- Stay indoors and dress warmly.
- Prepare for power outages.
- Use generators outside only and away from windows.
- Listen for emergency information and alerts.
- Look for signs of hypothermia and frostbite.
- Check on neighbors

Bundle up, Michigan. Winter Storm Maya is on its way!

  3. Hi Elise,

Great topic and your page is very pretty! It is crazy how cold this winter has been so far. In the last decade, I never remember so much snow, ice, or subzero temps. I heard this week that the local schools have had 3 school days out of the last 15. Wow! Again, great job this week!
